Day 119

Day 119:

How does phone typing work? I'm on my phone typing today, and I know that phone keyboards are quite a bit different from their desktop counterparts. Typing strange symbols is easy. ♤♡◇♧. I'd have to do a fair bit of googling to do that on desktop. What else do we have here…

Auto caps for the first word of a sentence is a useful feature. There is an ABC key, flipping the keyboard from the letters to symbols, and there are two pages. We have the usual &%£!@#() on page 1, but page 2 is more ■●•¿《》. I've never even seen some of these and I have no idea what they could possibly be useful for. Oh, we also have predictive text on here. Let's try a predictive only sentence, starting with a.

A VEGGIE is a good poem for the first principles of the only high level executives.

Genius.

We have emojis, although I'm not sure if they will show up correctly on Itch.io 😅. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wow, you can have *********************fun word modifications easily.*

The actual layout of the keys is the same, and I'm not sure if that is odd or not. Surely the keyboard was designed for the use of 10 fingers, but that is impossible when using a phone. Maybe they just didn't want the hassle of rearranging things, although I'm sure it would be possible to do it better. Of course, there would likely be localisation issues.

That semester to be all there is to it. Oh. That's the downside of predictive text. That seems to be all there is to it.

(Note: Some of this definitely didn't translate to PC well...)
