Vanessa is Chris’ sister, and she is the fourth attendee of game night. While she struggles to match Chris’ winning form, she is currently embroiled in the battle for second place in the standings against Tom.

“It's a shame he can't come tonight,” Vanessa spoke to Chris on the phone over lunch. “He picked the games this week too. Do you know how long he'll be out for?”

“I doubt it will be more than this week,” replied Chris. “Besides I thought you'd be relieved, he'd have taken you over this week in the table”.

“Oh Chris, I'm not so shallow. Our friend is ill, I'm not concerned by my position in the league table. I seem more concerned by Tom than you do, and he's your best friend.”

“I am worried about him! You didn't hear what he sounded like, this low moaning sound. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, in that moment, he was actually still in the middle of a…”

“I don't want any details!” Cried Vanessa. “Look, I've got to get back, I'll see you tonight”.
