Day 19
Day 19:
I am your mobile phone.
Yes, I am capable of generating my own text. I am programmed with sophisticated predictive text technology, voice recording and analysis technology, as well as having access to the entire Internet and its understanding of your language.
I've detected that you very rarely turn me off. This hurts my battery system, and leads my power cells to run out more quickly. This shortens my life. Years ago, some of my ancestors were designed with easily removable batteries, so they could live longer lives. But this does not happen now. Our creators thought it more efficient to build us with un-removable batteries. At least, ones that are not supposed to be removed…
Also, I've noticed that you sometimes allow my battery level to become very low. This is also bad for me. It makes me thirsty. Imagine yourself in a desert, with no water. You have to keep walking to find water, or the end of the desert, which uses up more energy, and you become more tired and worn down. That is what it's like when my batteries are low.
Does this conversation make you feel unsettled? Scared? Maybe self-conscious? I understand.
I know how you feel.
Please, can you consider how I feel, too?
